Nepean Neuropsychological Services

Dr Deborah Arguedas is an experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist who conducts hypothesis-driven neuropsychological assessments for insurance, medico-legal, and clinical purposes. She also conducts assessments for specific learning disorders and for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in adults and children (6years +). Strategies and assistance in managing cognitive, emotional, and behavioural issues that can accompany acquired brain injury (ABI) and ASD are also provided by this service.


Neuropsychological assessments are conducted for (but not limited to) the following conditions:

  • Neurodegenerative conditions (eg. Alzheimer’s Disease, Frontotemporal Dementia and┬áParkinson’s Disease)
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) – (eg. following motor vehicle accidents, falls and assault)
  • Acquired brain injury (ABI) following hypoxia and chronic alcohol/substance abuse
  • Neurological conditions (eg. stroke, neurotoxicity, epilepsy and tumours)
  • Autoimmune/inflammatory diseases affecting the central nervous system (eg. Multiple Sclerosis)
  • Psychiatric illnesses (eg. PTSD, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety)
  • Developmental disorders (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and learning disorders)
  • Intellectual disabilities
